Three years ago, in 2015, some 15 Bâloise colleagues had decided to offer one full day of work to participate in an exhausting, yet exciting, activity: the planting of new apple trees and the rejuvenating of old apple trees that had suffered through the years.
Organised in cooperation with our partner natur & ëmwelt a.s.b.l., this day saw 20 new young trees start their life in their apple orchard located in Ettelbruck. Moreover, the 'oldtimers' had their dead or diseased branches removed in order to bring new life to the trees.
And after a little bit more than 1000 days, the results are now visible, as our work from then has literally started to bear fruits. Last Monday was harvest time in the orchard: indeed, more than 1000 kilos of apple were picked!
The fruits will be offered to the Atelier Protégé Haff Ditgesbaach in Ettelbruck, who will turn them into a wonderful biological apple juice and sell them to sustain its activities.
Bâloise will continue its partnership with natur & ëmwelt a.s.b.l., thus contributing to the keeping of biodiversity in Luxembourg, and to the backing of the pyscho-social work undergone by the Association d’Aide par le Travail Thérapeutique.
