Mobility Yawning, neck pain... Help! I'm falling asleep at the wheel!
April 1, 2015
All of us have become tired at the wheel at least once. But it's something we have to prevent.

Yawning, back pain and sore eyes are just some of the clear signs that you're tired.

Now that you know, it's time to do something about it.

We've all heard those old tips for staying awake while driving, which, when you think about them, aren't all that effective and can sometimes do even more harm.

Let's be clear: Nothing can help you in the long run but our own advice

Our driving expert Pierre-Yves Rosoux has just one tip for you:

Stop and rest so you can feel better when you get back on the road.

Even better, keep these four tips in mind to ward off that tired feeling:

  • Get comfortable at the wheel so that your limbs aren't strained. All the tips you need are in our article on ideal driving posture.

  • Keep your mind awake, such as by listening to the radio.

  • No more than 20-21°C in the car

  • Take breaks every two hours in order to stretch your legs and get refreshed.
